Surrounded by the Italian Alps, Lake Como offers a gorgeous, picture perfect setting. Last week, we had the pleasure of experiencing this beauty firsthand from the water, an excursion that turned into a new friendship born of laughter and connection.
From the moment Francesco bellowed out an Italian pronunciation of my name (that I am convinced echoed across the Alps) to summon us aboard his gorgeous boat, his warmth and charisma were immediately evident. His knowledge of the lake and its history is profound and he shared fascinating details about all of the small towns we passed along the way. As we sailed he pointed out the grand villas of the rich and famous, showed us homes featured on the silver screen and took us to hidden gems only accessible by boat.
The views were spectacular but what made the experience truly special was Francesco's passion for his home and the lake. We felt like friends, and not passengers from the minute we boarded. Francesco's delightful sense of humor and his fun conversation made it easy to connect. He shared personal tales of his life in the region and some juicy romantic tidbits. By the end of the ride it felt as though we had known him forever.
Francesco went above and beyond to ensure our trip was unforgettable. He tailored the itinerary based on our preferences, from exploring secluded coves to stopping in Bellagio for a different perspective. His attention to detail and commitment to providing a truly personal experience was evident in every thoughtful gesture.
Our ride on Lake Como was more than just a sightseeing tour; it was a day filled with heartfelt connections, laugh out loud moments and new memories made. His expertise, kindness and the beautiful stories he shared made it an experience we'll cherish forever. For anyone looking to explore Lake Como, I wholeheartedly recommend hanging out with Francesco on his boat. It's not just a tour, but a chance to make a lifelong friend with a few laughs along the way.
